Taking Stock: Scoping the position of social prescribing in Southwark - November 2020 to January 2021 Report

What is Social Prescribing?

Social prescribing is a referral process to help people live their lives as well as possible, with a focus on supporting them to take control of and to improve their health, wellbeing, and social welfare. This is done through prescriptions from a GP or other medical professional, and offers an activity, advice, or support.

Purpose of this work

The purpose of this social prescribing scoping exercise is to take-stock of the situation in Southwark by drawing on observations and opinion from across the sector on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and comparing the current position with pre-pandemic ambitions for service development and improvements.
