We asked asked voluntary and community sector groups in Southwark about their experience of safeguarding. 

Here are the results of our recent Safeguarding Survey conducted in our Q1 network meetings in June 2021. 33 groups completed the survey and you can see the results in infographic below:

The main findings were: 

  • Lots of VCS groups are doing early intervention work in the community in some form
  • VCS groups aren't making as many referrals to social services as they are often perceived to
  • There is room for improvement in the communication between VCS groups and social services
  • There are some challenges with the current referral pathways which seem to be working for some but not for others

These points will be discussed by the Safeguarding Leaders Network and taken to the multi-agency partnership meeting by our VCS Representatives.
