Southwark has been chosen as one of 13 pilot places in England to receive funding to work with local partners and central government on a very specific local challenge focused on a particular postcode or tightly defined group (Walworth area cited in EOI). The funding programme wants to test whether better coordination between central and local government and partners will deliver improved outcomes and provide the opportunity to engage central government departments into neighbourhood delivery.

A detailed presentation about how this work will look like in Walworth is available here. Further information about the Test and Learn Project/Walworth Neighbourhood Model is available on the council website. The local authority has also been successful in securing additional funding for this work through the partnerships for people and place programme.
