PCREF approach at SLaM: A partnership to achieve anti-racism and equality.

Here's an update from the partnership:

The Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF) is a new way of working which brings together Black communities, Black service users and their carers with SLaM staff.  Together we will re-imagine mental health services to achieve anti-racism and equity in mental health services.

In this first iteration of PCREF, South London and Maudsley (SLaM) is focusing on improving Access, Experience and Outcomes for Black African, Black Caribbean and Black Other (including Mixed) communities. This is because SLaM data shows that these groups are most disadvantaged in our care.

In partnership with our host organisations that support two borough each, Lambeth Black Thrive (Southwark and Lambeth) and Croydon BME Forum (Lewisham and Croydon), we warmly invite members of the Black community to attend a series of events we are calling ‘Fit for Partnership’.
