Yesterday, 17 December, we held our 2020 AGM, a big thank you to all of you who joined us.

This year, due to the pandemic, we held our AGM online. It opened with our Director, Chris Mikata-Pralat, welcoming everyone to the event.

Chris, our chair Nicola Howard and Chris Wilson, our treasurer, then took us through the usual AGM business. Chris then spoke briefly about what is coming next for Community Southwark and the AGM closed with a guest address from Cllr Alice McDonald, Labour councillor for Newington ward in Southwark and Cabinet Member for Equalities and Communities.

Cllr Alice McDonald talked about the new and refreshed council plan for next year's priorities. These priorities, she explained, have two main commitments. The first being 'to protect communities from COVID-19', such as through the work that the new Community Health Ambassadors Programme is doing.

The second being 'rebuilding back stronger' after COVID-19. This will involve using the knowledge that this pandemic, and the Black Lives Matter movement, has highlighted the inequalities that many of our communities are fighting and to use this learning to focus the rebuilding back stronger priority.

Please see the AGM agenda, last year's minutes and our Annual Report and Accounts 2019/2020.

We also shared our 2019/20 Impact Report

Thank you to everyone who sent comments on the chat during the event. One question that we asked our delegates was, 'how do you want to hear from us and feed into our work - what would work for you? quick polls, surveys, focus groups?'. Please do continue to let us know at [email protected]

We hope that you all have a restful Christmas break and keep safe!
