Southwark projects secure funding in King’s Civic Challenge

Nine winning projects, co-created by teams of students, staff, alumni and community partners Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster, have received funding through King’s College London’s Civic Challenge.

King’s Civic Challenge teams up students, staff, alumni and local community partners to develop solutions to issues affecting King’s neighbouring boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster.

After pitching their ideas to a panel of judges, nine teams were awarded £5,000 for the community partner, plus a package of evaluation and support, to make their ideas a reality.

Winning projects include supporting those living with dementia in south London to create short plays and using African wellness techniques to help local people overcome COVID-19.
