Information Event: Additional Drug Treatment, Crime and Harm Reduction Grant Funded Project

Southwark Council are running a virtual partnership information event.

The session will provide an overview of Southwark’s grant funded project and how the model will operate in practice working with a wide range of health and criminal justice partners to deliver better outcomes for people with drug treatment needs that are known to the criminal justice system.

In March 2021, Southwark Council was allocated £520k from the Section 31 local authority grants for additional drug treatment crime and harm reduction activity in 2021-22 and submitted a grant application in respect of these funds following extensive consultation with a range of partner agencies. The grant aims to help local areas drive down the crime associated with the drug market, particularly acquisitive crime and violent crime, and the rise in drug-related deaths through new investment in drug treatment. Southwark’s accepted proposal includes the creation of a dedicated criminal justice drug treatment team, hosted by Change, Grow, Live, and a programme of enhanced recovery support facilitated by Southwark’s Recovery Support Service hosted by Janus Resonance Factor Limited.
