The Newcomen Collett Foundation supports the education of Southwark residents who are under the age of 25 through various grant-making programmes.

1. Grants for schools and other organisations

Grants are available under the following funding priorities:

  • helping schools and other groups to buy equipment for the benefit of children
  • supporting extra curricula activities for children and young people (eg. school trips, after school clubs, holiday clubs, uniformed organisations)
  • helping organisations which provide educational opportunities to schools and colleges in Southwark

Please note: You can apply for a grant only once in any 12-month period.

2. Emergency Laptops

Funding of up to £300 is also available for emergency laptops for pupils attending a senior school in Southwark.

To be eligible, schools must apply on behalf of pupils who are in the greatest financial need, and can apply for a maximum of 5 laptops. In particular circumstances, a larger grant will be considered.

Funding for emergency laptops is available to pupils attending a senior school in Southwark.

  • Schools must apply on behalf of a pupil. The laptop will become the property of the pupil.

  • Schools must select pupils who are in the greatest financial need.

  • Schools can apply for a maximum of 5 laptops.

  • Pupils must be resident in the London Borough of Southwark.

  • Generally, grants are up to £300.  In particular circumstances a larger grant will be considered.

  • Applications will be considered at the Chair's discretion and a response will normally be made within 5 working days.
