Better Bankside Community Grants Scheme

Better Bankside is offering Community Grants again this year to organisations and groups that are supporting the local community as they continue to deal with social and economic impacts of the pandemic and the inequalities that have been highlighted over the past year.

About the Grants

Grants of up to £500 are available for organisations that are delivering services to benefit people living in the Better Bankside BID area, or those areas of Southwark which are affected by higher levels of deprivation, in particular those in north and central Southwark.

In particular, they are keen to support one-off costs or provide a significant contribution towards work that is focused on the ongoing impacts of the pandemic and to support the recovery over the comings months, including but not limited to:

  • Digital exclusion
  • Social isolation and rebuilding connections
  • Black and minority ethnic groups, including BME-led organisations
  • Education and employment, especially for young people
  • Mental health
  • Food and/or hygiene poverty

A total of £5,000 is available to be donated during 2021.  Grants will be awarded in two rounds, and application forms should be submitted by 5pm on the following dates:

·        Round 1 – Thursday 17th June

·        Round 2 – Thursday 21 October
