Thanks to all of you who came along to our Staying Connected, Staying Safe Conference, on Tuesday 19 January.

We hope that you feel more informed about the Covid-19 situation in Southwark, and the type of support available to you.

Please see below resources and contact information for speakers at the event. If you have any other queries, please contact [email protected]. You can also see lots of support and resources on our Covid-19 page.

Rapid testing (available to all Southwark residents)

If you don’t have symptoms of COVID-19, you can book a free test. Results are usually available in less than one hour. You can book regular tests, three or four days apart, for greater reliability.

You can get a lateral flow test if you’re aged 16 and over.

Where is the testing site?

The following testing centre is open in Southwark, seven days a week from 9am to 7pm. More sites will open soon.

  • Damilola Taylor Centre, 1e Surrey Grove, Peckham SE15 6DR

Who can get a test?

We are currently encouraging key workers and those who can’t work from home to get a lateral flow test. This includes school staff, supermarket staff, transport workers, security guards, cleaners, construction workers and many other roles

When to not book a test?

  • do not book a lateral flow test if you have COVID-19 symptoms. Instead book a free NHS test on the government website
  • do not book a lateral flow test if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Instead you must stay at home and self-isolate

Getting support if you are self-isolating or shielding

Southwark Community Support Alliance – one-stop support during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis. As a community, the situation we are facing is unprecedented and therefore requires us all to work together differently in these exceptional times.

If you need help to arrange essential supplies (because you are unable to leave the house due to COVID 19) or require support with any of the following:

  • if you are not sure how to get help for someone you know
  • if you need support around your mental well being
  • if you want to know more about voluntary groups in your area
  • If you are vulnerable and require emergency food or don’t have enough money for food
