Make London is here. Pitch for up to £50k to help crowdfund your community project.

It’s been a tough year for our city, the pandemic has taken its toll on Londoner’s mental health, social connections, high streets and neighbourhoods. As well as highlighted the need for quality outdoor spaces everywhere, new ways of coming together safely, and clever ideas and experimentation to help our town centres and neighbourhoods recover.

But what this pandemic has already shown is that we’re at our strongest when Londoners stand together.

Now more than ever, London needs new ideas, creators, doers and makers to help our city recover and grow stronger.

That’s why the Mayor of London launched Make London - a brand new £500k crowdfunding initiative to support and empower Londoners to play a leading role in our recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.

It’s designed to help support grassroots organisations, community groups, social enterprises and many more across the city by making funding of up to £50,000 available for local projects that help to enhance our public spaces, promote participation in art and culture, and regenerate our high streets.

Two tiers of funding are available:

  • Tier 1: Up to £5,000 for small projects that start something new or grow an existing idea
  • Tier 2: Up to £50,000 to support larger test projects for the city (at this Tier, applicants will need to crowdfund some of their project costs from other sources).

The deadline to pitch your idea to the Mayor of London is 28th January 2021. In advance of this, programme partners Spacehive is running a series of online drop-in sessions to help you get your application ready.
