This workshop is ideal if you want to find out what Public Authorities should be doing to make sure that they are promoting race equality. 

Public Authorities, which includes Local Authorities, have a legal responsibility for assessing and recording the likely equality impact of any changes to activities or policies that they are responsible for  

If you are a BAME community organisation and you are interested in making sure that your communities are not being excluded from any services or policy decisions or discriminated against by a public authority, then you need to attend this session.

Course and Learning Outcomes

  • Review of Equality Act 201– Know why is it important for race equality 
  • Race Equality and Public Authorities  Understand what Public Authorities must do by law
  • Review of Equal Impact Assessment process Understand the two stages of the process 
  • Challenge Public Authorities - Gain knowledge about Equal Impact Assessment challenges

This session is targeted at BAME led Community organisations/organisations where the majority of their users are from BAME communities.
